Description
This F-16C Fighting Falcon or Viper was assigned to the 4th Fighter Squadron Fuujins, 388th Fighter Wing normally based at Hill Air Force Base Utah but deployed to Balad Air Base Iraq during the Iraqi Surge of 2007 through 2008. Captain Caroline “Blaze” Jensen flew this aircraft on many missions during The Surge. It is armed with GBU-38 500 pound bombs and AIM-120C Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles or AMRAAMs, more commonly known to Viper and Eagle pilots as “Slammer”. The GBU-38s and GBU-12 laser-guided bombs on the other side of the jet gave aircrews the perfect low collateral damage weapons for striking ISIS and foreign fighters in Baghdad.
