Description
The USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN had one of the longest deployments since carriers were at sea during World War II, ten months at sea and combat operations over Afghanistan and Iraq. During the Shock and Awe air campaign of March-April of 2003, the F-14D Tomcats of VF-31 Tomcatters flew opening night strike and Close Air Support missions supporting Third Infantry Division’s March to Baghdad. This is the Squadron Commander, Commander Paul “Butkus” Haas, personal F-14D during combat operations over Baghdad the first night of Shock and Awe.
